LG Gives a Glimpse of Best-Yet Audio/Video Lineup for 2014.

LG’s audio/video roster for the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show puts an emphasis on premium design and performance. Up first is the latest version of the space-saving LG SoundPlate (Model LAB540W), its sleek form factor conceived to accompany today’s flat screen TVs. Less than four centimeters high, it can be placed unobtrusively right beneath most modern 32- to 55-inch televisions. This new SoundPlate system packs 4.1 channels of audio including an external subwoofer, for a whopping 320 total watts of power. It offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and users can plug in multiple source components. It even features a built-in Blu-ray 3D player with LG Smart TV functionality, so now any TV can have the advantages of internet-enabled apps and streaming video.

LG’s Wireless Audio System (Model NP8740), winner of a 2014 CES Innovation Award, makes virtually limitless audio configurations possible, thanks to its dual-band Wi-Fi “mesh” network technology. Stream studio-quality music throughout the house, with each speaker not only reproducing rich, clear audio but also relaying the sound signal in multiple directions. Several speakers can be set up in any combination of rooms, to cover a whole home with a single system. Play the same song everywhere in Party Mode, or different songs through each speaker in Personal Mode.

LG also makes a host of Sound Bars in a variety of sizes and styles for just about every need. Take the new NB5540, its polished, dark silver finish and low profile a lovely match for thin-bezel TVs. Wall-mounted or parked just about anywhere, it’s particularly striking when paired with one of our premium flat-screens. But despite its compact size, the NB5540 can fill a room with its 4.1 channels (including two forward-facing and two rear-facing drivers) and 320 watts. This sound bar employs a high-fidelity DAC (digital-to-analog converter) and an Analog Class-D amplifier to deliver a pure, audiophile experience. It also supports HDMI with Audio Return Channel (ARC), enabling it to connect to a TV with a single cable, or pair it wirelessly with a Bluetooth device.

These three new arrivals join the elite ranks of LG’s award-winning home audio products.
