t LG, we’re proud to be a premier national partner of No Kid Hungry®, and the official home appliance partner of No Kid Hungry’s Taste of the Nation culinary event series. On October 5th we were on hand for Chicago’s Taste of the Nation event benefiting No Kid Hungry. The evening brought together the city’s top chefs, mixologists and tastemakers all for the good cause of ensuring all children get the healthy food they need.
Leading up to the event, LG launched “Selfless Selfies,” a social media campaign to help raise awareness of childhood hunger. Consumers were invited to visit the LG kiosk at participating Sears locations in Chicago to sign a dinner plate or snap a selfie and share it with the hashtag #LGFillThePlate. The effort helped to provide 100,000 meals for kids in Chicago and across the country.
This year, the annual event took place at Revel Fulton Market in the Windy City’s trendy, urban-chic West Loop area. Guests mixed and mingled while sampling favorite recipes from a culinary lineup of noted chefs and bartenders. At the LG kiosk, Chicago’s acclaimed “Prince of Porc” and Food & Wine Best New Chef, Jason Vincent, of Logan Square restaurant Giant, prepared healthy and affordable, kid-friendly cuisine. His menu included Black Bean, Corn & Avocado Salad and Chicken & Zucchini Quesadillas. Easy, inexpensive, and yum!
