Get smart, get fit, get well – what you can do in 20 mins

he LG EasyClean™ feature in LG’s large line of ranges takes 20 minutes to clean your oven on its own. It got us thinking, what else can you do in 20 minutes? The answer? Well, lets start here: what can’t you do in 20 minutes?

You might not be able to finish something, but you can certainly get a kick-start on projects you’ve been procrastinating about. If the EasyClean range is setting the example (check them out here) by doing one of the nastiest jobs in the house in 20 minutes, you have no excuse. Here’s a few ideas to get you going:

Get Fit
The thought of getting in shape and starting a new exercise routine is hard work — especially after a winter like the one we’ve endured. The good news is — that really and truly — every bit counts and does make a difference. This app, Couch to 5k, has workouts starting at 20 mins a day, promising to get you in shape to run a 5K race after 9 weeks.

Get Well
Eating well plays a huge part in keeping healthy, and one way to do that is put a little bit of time and effort into planning. Avoid the cheap take-out for lunch at your desk, and make a healthy salad or sandwich the night before. Try this Grilled Chicken and Pecan salad. It takes 20 mins to prepare, tastes way better than what your local delivery can serve you and you’ll probably save cash—and some calories.

Get Smart
This one is probably our favorite. Research shows that taking short naps improves your memory. The thinking behind it is that the longer you are awake, the harder it is for your brain to store more information. Think about how tough it is to focus during a 4pm meeting for example… and it’s tough to disagree. An afternoon nap frees up the short-term space in your memory, allowing you to take in, and store, more information.
